Microsoft will never, ever, ever release an xbox 360 game on a blu-ray disk. Ever.
(Of course the NEXT xbox machine WILL have a blu-ray drive.)
As an American, if I didn't already have a PS3 I would wait until the economic stimulus packages get sent before I bought a PS3 or 360. I really wonder how those tax rebates are gonna effect console sales? I think it could produce a significant impact. American sales of GTA could even see a huge spike when the rebates hit.

I hear you. Before I started reading N4G, I just enjoyed my games and never worried if they looked better on a different console. Now, with the constant video comparisons and fighting on N4G, I can't just sit back and play the game without wondering if I got the inferior version.
Why would you care what TV you're running GTA4 on? GTA4 has some really terrible graphics for a next-gen game. Its still a great game of course, its not all about the graphics, but it looks pretty ugly, much like all GTAs before it.
I'll die before I pay more than $20 for a blu-ray movie. Blu-ray movies need a drastic price drop, and soon.

Does it really matter? The GTA games have never had good graphics and GTA4 looks pretty ugly on both consoles from what I've seen. Some of those cut-scenes look PS2ish to me. The GTAs aren't about graphics, they're about characters, good writing, jokes, music, and etc.
I've always wanted to play one of these games, but I have no idea where to find them. You certainly aren't gonna find them at your local wal-mart or gamestop.
Why do I read these threads? Now I'm going to have to rent the version that I don't buy, just to compare the two games on the same TV on the same settings. I'm way too obsessive not to compare them both on the same TV now that I've read all these articles. What a waste of five bucks that'll be.
Nearly every other site has said that the 360 version has more texture pop-ins, a worse frame rate, and less AA.

I've got to be honest: GTA4 might be the ugliest video game I have ever seen. Its so blurry and weird looking that I can't even tell whats happening. Its almost unplayable. The draw distance is like 2 feet. Everything else on the screen but those 2 feet are so blurry and messed up that I can't even tell what I'm looking at. Its just horrible. There is no doubt in my mind now that game critics are all getting money hats for reviews. I have the 360 version, and I'm going to rent the PS3 version...
